The Senior XV Rugby team got 2017 off to the best possible start against a Terenure social team. While the opposition might not have been the best, our boys hadn't played rugby in over four weeks and didn't even get a chance to train since returning to the College. It was a comprehensive and confidence boosting performance, with tries from Douglas Boyd Crotty, Aifo Ebeleghe, Esosa Eronmwon, Max Hopkins, Sean Cooper and Moritz Boyen. Douglas added two conversions also. The game ended 35-21, with Terenure crossing for three converted tries.

Elsewhere the Leps took on St.Paul's in their first fixture, again without a training session. Alas, their skills proved very rusty indeed and they lost heavily, 0-46. The Ducks also took on St Paul's and garnered some pride for SCC, winning 33-14 with tries from Jack Hayes, Juree Chukwueke (2), Tom Larke and Caleb Owen (with four conversions from the boot of Tom Larke also). It was a double header for the Ducks yesterday and they also challenged Mount Temple but went down 19-7 try with their try and conversion both coming from Tom again.

Well done to all and best of the luck for the remainder of the term.
